Alex is a wellness advocate, breath work facilitator, and trauma informed space holder.
The concept of Grounded in Color came to life after taking a 200hr yoga training. It was the first time she was overcame with vibrant colors during a breathing meditation. It was also the first time her body acknowledged the physical discomfort from being the only brown Latinx in a yoga space.
At this time of her life, over five years ago she started deeply exploring her relationship to wellness and mindfulness, through Ashtanga yoga, meditations, breath work, sound bath and noticed the positive results, as well as, the stories held in her body from painful events.
During this time she collectively embraced both the Ying and Yang of emotions and created opportunities to expand her knowledge, self discovery, and yoga practice under several mentors.
For Alex, mindfulness is much more than just a practice. It is a gift of tools to bring us back into our bodies, an opportunity to discover our sovereignty through processing what is held in our tissues, and to tap into our breath in ways that provide nervous system regulation. Inviting people to practice, witness, and feel held.
Alex spends time creating safe spaces for clients by offering varying practices and tools that feel good for them at their own pace and own vibe. Meeting people where they are within their lived experiences without pushing anyone out of their comfort zone. Access to safe and inclusive spaces, where all can be seen and understood is important to her as these spaces are sometimes hard to find.
All of you is welcomed, here.
